Qasr-Heshmatiyeh neighborhood is one of the historic districts of Tehran, but it faces numerous challenges. Its eastern border adjacent to a major highway has led to low security along its edges. Additionally, the lack of small-scale communal spaces within the neighborhood has reduced its security and sense of community. Furthermore, there is a large park in the center of the neighborhood that requires a better design.

We embarked on a project that relied on ethnography and a narrative approach to collect the oral history of this illustrious neighborhood from its local residents. Our goal was to define suitable projects at the neighborhood level and provide a development brief for each of them. This approach aimed to illuminate the glorious past of this historic neighborhood through the voices of its people and to outline appropriate projects that could enhance its future.
